Happy New Year K*nts

2008 has finally come to an end and what a massive fucking year it has been for electronic music.

Now I really can't be stuffed writing a massive long 'omg these guys did this in the year and these guys did that and fake blood is amazing and trumpdisco are gods gift to humanity' because chances are if you read any other blog dedicated to music you would already know all of these facts.

Instead i'm taking the easy way out.. by posting some of the new shit i'm listening to at the moment! So hope you have a very happy and safe 2009 from all of us at Whiteballin..

Chuckie - Let The Bass Kick

Hostage - Ain't No Man

Will Bailey & Mikey Hook - The Shaker (Great Really Loud!!)

Larry Off - Carmina B. More (Data Noir's Bootleg)
(The start could bore/scare some people but it gets real electronic... great vocal too..)

Lady Gaga - Just Dance (Teen Wolf Remix)

Dilemn - Cosmica (Great one from Dilemn!)

Spiderman TV Theme (Using this in my next mix! ^,^)

P.S. Shattering that there is no new Proxy tracks at the moment.. lets hope that Polymorphic remix gets released soon!! Happy New Year everyone! <3

New Proxy? Is there a God?

So after the rather large night that just occurred.. I was cabbing it home with a few of the boys.. and in my rather drunken state I made a proclamation to what ever God would listen to me.... that the Proxy was a gift from thee.. and if thou would oblige.. to send more gifts to please us...

NOW... once getting home after that.. what happened to appear in front of me was another live mix by who else... The Proxy! And what was the first track in this segment of this live mix???..... A NEW TRACK!!

Sooooo.. here it is.. The Proxy's Kissy Sell Out Mix!!

P.S... Can Anyone.. I mean Anyone.. Please tell me what that new track is??? I'm very... very keen to find out... Post a comment if you know.. and if you don't.. just kick back and enjoy...

Co.... Co.... Co.... CORNELIUS!!

Cornelius has finally arrived. 'Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo' has created what some might say.. a master piece.

I'll be leaving this song on repeat for some time. And i suggest you do as well.

Now if you'll excuse me.. I need to introduce my CDJ's to Sir Cornelius and Mr. Paranoid.

The Bloody Beetroots - Cornelius (OMG 320kbps too!)

sex on fire..remixed!!

Heard this track been dropped over the w/e and ofcourse gets a HUGE crowd response.

I think its going to get such a response anywhere it gets played because the original is such

The remixer's name is Tenzin from sydney. He had a remix of american boy floating around
a while ago which was very nice too...

But in my opinion he has done quite a number on this kings of leon bomb!

hope ya'll enjoy

sex on fire (tenzin remix) - kings of leon

The Masochist

So it's 5:00 in the morning and I need to leave for a flight 7:00, giving me 2 hours of 'sleep'...

The tracks are done, at last.

I know this occasion probably deserves some more words , but you'd have more luck convincing Dick Cheney that the Iraq war wasn't such a good idea.

Trumpdisco - Paranoid
mr. Oizo - Hun (Trumpdisco Remix)

Which also so brings me to the last point. Trumpdisco is out of town for 6weeks! Consider the two newies as consolation for our absense..
If your thinking, 'hey I don't care or Im not evening slightly sad they're going on hols', well...
lick me.
And also listen to the tracks =)
The Blog is now in the more than capable hands of our other whiteballin crew members; Prolifik and Kraymer.

So thanks to the recent mix by the current peoples champion.. Trumpdisco have hinted at a song that has been brewing in my bowels waiting to be released with a fresh scent of yeast..
Now I'm not at any liberty to be blogging any of those "exclusive" tracks.. but just to rub it in a little.. they sound fucking nuts.. really.. really loud. Now for some.. if I say 'Noisia' you would respond with a blank stare. To others.. you will enlighten and surprise me with your knowledge of Drum 'N' Bass.
Noisia are old school DnB artists reigning from the Netherlands. They have always been a favourite of mine back in the day when I used to listen to DnB religiously. OK.. so when one of my old school favourite DnB artists suddenly rocks up and makes a dirty as electro flavoured track.. well.. 'Pre-Cum' would be my choice of words..
So before I give you this track.. you must promise.. play this one loud.. really.. really.. really loud! It deserves it.

B.R.U.L - Noisia

P.S. Look out.. for PARANOID.. =)

Also... Heading away for a week.. so I had to do this post to make sure you guys didn't forget about me! See you next week! =)

This is the supposed video for Mr Oizo's amazing Positif. It's extremely Oizo-esk, in that, it makes absolutely no sense at all. But interestingly, if you follow the link to the actual YouTube page the top comment states, and I quote...

"hello everybody, i never did this video. it's totally unofficial.

(Quentin Dupieux .aka. Mr Oizo)

Upon clicking on the YouTube profile of this Mr "Q", you lay your eyes upon a dark and minimalistic profile page with a video of what seems to be the eye-cuttingly beautiful promo footage for the Lambs Anger LP... but no Positif video

Official Positif???.... or Negatif?

You decide.

(Watch from 2 minutes 20. HAHAHA!)

Went to Stereosonic in Melbourne on Saturday. Disregarding the fact that we were surrounded by thousands of fully sicks, all sporting the no t-shirt and no chest hair look, all the while unleashing their sweat reserves on any one within 2 metres of them.... Disregarding all that...

It was a sweet day! ..... or sweat day

This song's been out for a while, but I only recently became aware of it after being smashed in the face with it's poo inducing bass line at the Crookers set at Stereosonic.

It's like Drop It Like It's Hot on steroids! This beat's raaaank!

JFK and Gay Dentists?

Jesse Frederick Keeler (JFK) is one half of the amazing MSTRKRFT! OK.. Now that I've satisfied those poor poor uneducated people.. we can get down to it.

JFK pretty much edits anything. Seriously.. Fucking anything.. But he does a kick ass job so who cares!

Now Mr. Oizo is a favourite over here at Whiteballin'.. So when my small girlish hands came across this edit.. well.. You know when you're out and you meet a really hot chick.. and she's having a great conversation with you.. and you're listening to about 80% of it but also thinking about what you're going to do to her later.. and then you end up going back to her place..

Well yeah that's exactly the feeling I got when I came across this edit.

Check it out!

Gay Dentist (JFK Edit) - Mr. Oizo - 320... duh..

Positif - Mr. Oizo - You should know why I'm upping this again.. if you don't.. ugh it's not even worth the trouble.. just figure it out..

Jalapeno Jelly, George Bush and Wolfgang Gartner

Well.... at least one good thing has come from Texas!!

Wolfgang Gartner is from Austin Texas and has a wicked mean sound.

His Myspace page deceived me when it stated his genre of music was 'House' and House alone.

But after listening to Hook Shot.. I have to say this guy has been listening to a serious amount of SebastiAn!

Check out some of his shit.

How come there aren't any clubs like this in Melbourne? How hard can it be to have a club night that plays good music??? God this pisses me off! Every time i go out i tell myself that "tonight will be different... it'll be good". But my wish is never fulfilled.

DJ's are always scared about upsetting the crowd or pissing off management if they play music that's any thing close to hard. The sad thing is that this is usually true.

The problem is that shit music attracts people who do not appreciate good music. So dropping a Proxy or Bloody Beetroots track is literally like teaching chemistry to an infant. It doesn't even have to be really hard. Some decent fidget or some "real" minimal tech shit is equally as good.

Things needs to change!

(ps. That first track that Huoratron is playing gives me an eargasm)

He's coming to Aus next month! Check it!

The good thing about having your own blog is that you can decide what you post. If for example you have some of your own material, be it a song, a picture, a video, a story etc (whether it's good or shit is of no matter), blogging is a marvelous way to trick people into thinking it's cool.

I am doing this right now... April fools!

I Touch Too Much

"OMG FUCK FINALLY!!" That is what I screamed at my dog when I heard a NEW FAKE BLOOD REMIX.

I think my ITunes 'Play Counter' broke at the amount of times I had Fake Blood's track 'Mars' played.. (or a specific remix by this artist.. )

So here is some new Fake Blood... and only because I love you.. it's in 320.. =)

Touch Too Much (Fake Blood Remix) - Hot Chip

Oh P.S. This song is rather heavy.. Heavy enough to crush a small child..

Make You Freq (Miles Dyson Remix) - Filthy Rich

P.P.S. A much needed addition to your Polymorphic arsenal..

Intergalactic (Polymorphic Remix) - Beastie Boys

Polymorphic tunes are the kind of beats you would be forced to play in a set, after multiple idiots come up to you and ask for something 'with more lyrics', something a bit softer...
Last time we checked, some chick singing about her boyfriend was as far away from fun as Bill O'reilly, let alone anything close to some white eye.

So when you really just want to kill people with music, drop some of this...

Polymorphic - Rebel

Polymorphic - Smoke Everyday

Polymorphic - Toxication

Polymorphic - Want to be my Russian Girl?

The Proxy - Raven (Polymorphic remix)

Congorock, dubbed the baseline master by fellow Italian nutters The Bloody Beetroots, has been pushing out beats for some time. Unfortunately he is often only known for his collaborations along side the beetroots. To help rectify this misconception, here are some of his own remixes, and originals.

The man who's oscillating baselines will make you whiteball any day..

Favretto [featuring Naan] - What's Your Name? (Congorock Remix)

Bugo - Primitivo (Congorock Remix)

Zombie... Zombie... Zombie Nation...

OK.. I admit it... I thought Zombie Nation was the best fucking song ever invented when I was an un-educated youth. But then I grew up.. and listened to a Proxy track... and my balls dropped somewhere in between...

Anyway. A little trivia for the un-educated youths out there still listening to Ministry CD's.

Zombie Nation IS KernKraft 400. He originally released a track called 'Zombie Nation'. Due to it being a generally good track.. And because the name 'Zombie Nation' is pretty sweet.. KernKraft 400 renamed himself Zombie Nation and renamed the track 'KernKraft 400'. Not only that, but Zombie Nation is one half of ZZT!

He has just released a new track titled 'Forza'. By itself this track is rather funky, but with every funky song theres always one guy who wants to turn it into a dance floor smasher! I'll let you decide who did it better!

Zombie Nation - Forza

Zombie Nation - Forza (Fukkk Offf Remix)

Zombie Nation - Forza (Housemeister Remix)

And Ofcourse.. The Classic!

Charlie Fanclub

He says he'll never dance to "...anything by Fedde Le Grande" and his MySpace headline says, and I quote, "A mere glimpse of what is yet to come".

I honestly think that Charlie Fanclub is one of the electronic music scene's best kept secrets. Hailing from Derby in the UK, Charlie Fanclub has been around longer than you think. He started making music on his PlayStation about a decade ago and, remarkably, has only been making PC based productions for around 2 years. His sound sits somewhere between minimal-tech and full blown electro thrash... what more could you want?

Get these songs... some new... some old.... all fantastic!

Huoratron - $$ Troopers (Charlie Fanclub Remix)
... highly... highly recommended!

Charlie Fanclub - Jet

Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You (Charlie Fanclub Remix) ... Best remix of this song in my opinion

Give him some well deserved love.

Autodidakt - Shit Your Rack (Proxy Remix) Link removed by request

Tuesday, September 23, 2008

He is the king of dark-tech. Heavily influenced by the savage sawtooth sounds of Drum & Bass, the Proxy is literally destroying (pun intended) dance floors literally all over the world. Tracks such as "Dance in Dark" and "Raven" are a dropped by the biggest names in the biz, while his older stuff still has a freshness and is often heard in the sets of Mr Oizo, Tiga and the Bloody Beetroots.

I adore watching novice teenie-boppers who on their first encounter with "Dance in Dark", achieve an expression on their face that sits somewhere between euphoria and fear....

Another Root?

Yes... another post on the Bloody Beetroots.

Though i feel it's necessary as I'll be seeing them for the first time this weekend when they play at the Prince in Melbourne.

I ignore all the rhetoric regarding the repetitiveness of their signature sound and simply take it for what it is.... Music to get loose to!

So readers....If by any chance you're there... I'll be there moshing behind the decks with my crew. So come say hi!

This up to date remix of this Drum & Bass classic is sure to kill you.

Computer Club also goes by the name "Gigantor" who is also part of the savage and highly regarded Drum & Bass trio, Evol Intent. I was listening to them before i was listening to electro and house so I thought I'd get back to some of my "D n B" roots in this post.

yeeeaaahhhh booooyyyy!!!!

A high intensity and unmasked DJ set by Daft Punk in around 1996/97 .

Some of you may have seen this before, but i only just discovered it and was completely blown away!

It really shows the continuing influence they still have in terms of where electronica is today..... and also their main influence.... 80's acid house!..... and the fact that Rollin' & Scratchin' is still the best song of all time!

(And no... Thomas Bangalter is DJing...!! Not the guy in the background who, admittedly, looks incredibly like him)

Rave On!

Gustav Klimpt Was A Dark!!!!!!

What a song!

Don't really understand the story behind the title though... Other than Gustav Klimt being an Austrian Symbolist painter during the late 19th and 20th century, and one of the most prominent members of the Vienna Secession movement. His works include various paintings, murals and sketches with their primary subject being the female body...

Beetroots will be touring Oz in September!!!!

Finally a quality remix of this track! Boys Noize is in top form with this slamming rework of this reeeeaaal sweet Late of the Pier masterpiece!

Although he's been a bit quiet since last year's epic, Oi! Oi! Oi!, Alex Ridha has produced the goods once again.

It's just a preview but you get the idea.

Sorry (once again) about our absence. We've just been so busy lately!
What with work, sleep, music and half of the operation leaving to Japan for a month, all time has seemingly vanished.

But I made a promise to myself that I'd do all that i could, for as long as i could, to keep this place up and running, though to tell you the truth, it gets harder every time...

But anyway!

Here are some new and old tunes that I've discovered, re-discovered and just generally am diggin.

Seen/heard this track around the traps for a while and it's finally reared it's catchy little head.
It makes me happy.

The Who - Baba O'Reily (SebastiAn Remix)

Overlooked this song when i first heard it, but ever since i saw the man himself open his set to it at Prince in Melbourne a few weeks ago... It's been love. The syncopation achieved when the kick first drops is salivatory and something only Oizo can do.

Jamie Lidell - A Little Bit Of Feelgood (Mr Oizo Remix)

This track is generally fucken fidget and some new territory for the somewhat omnipresent Ed Banger himself, Busy P, who's teamed up with some new talent for this slamming Das Pop remix. Djedjotronic has showed his skills with a number of originals and remixes, but it was his remix of "Invaders" by Ed Banger newbies, DSL, that turned heads (namely Busy P ...)

But yeah...

Das Pop - Underground (Djedjotronic & Busy P Remix)

This next one was track one of Sinden's latest "We Make It Good Vol. 3". It's a real good bunch of tracks... mainly the Fake Blood tunes.... But this one is a fucking slamfest!
(Thanks to FVCV)

Don Rimini - Rave On

I think i got this track around this time last year and it like many great songs slipped under radar. It played on my iTunes when i was in that horribly indescisive mindset of I'm fucking tired and i should have an early night.....or at the risk of getting pneumnia..... I could get loose at one of Melbourne's notoriously good nightspots.

Listen to the song and tell me what you think i ended up doing that night.

Jumi Lee - B Attack (Pirate Robot Midget Remix)

And finally, I generally just love to mix this song! Not to mention how unbelievably good it is!
Also... a bit of useless trivia you may or may not know... Jester plays the drums in Goose.

Goose - British Mode (Jester Remix)

Enjoy kuns!!!!!

Real Blood Plus More

The first half of this year has seen the rise and... rise of English DJ/ Producer, Fake Blood.

At any time you will see at least one of his high energy, B-Boy influenced, and at times, rather humorous tracks in the top ten of pretty much every respected DJ in the world.

I really am a genuine fan of his somewhat refreshing sound... especially in a world where you'll now hear various Crookers tracks played on K-MART in-store radio!

or is that a good thing?!?!

Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip - Look For the Woman (Fake Blood)

Fake Blood - Mars

Unkle - Restless (Fake Blood Remix)

Underworld - Ring Road (Fake Blood Remix)

Bonde Do Role - Gasolina (Fake Blood Remix)

Holy Fucking Shit!

This man is the embodiment of the WhiteBall.

The Proxy's newest track, "Dance in Dark", has finally surfaced and... oh my god... I think it's the dirtiest, most beautiful thing I've ever heard!!!

The Russian prodigy has sampled the somewhat haunting vocals of Stacey Charles from the original "Dancing in the Dark", by Schwarzkopf (aka Michael Woods), which is out now on Cayenne Records.... I must admit, this caught me by surprise as there has been no talk of it being a remix.

The Proxy is due to release his new EP "by June.." this year and I'm beginning to feel sick with anticipation.

Also, hear it in action in the solid Future Rock Vol. 3 mixtape (track list in comments). Big ups to Keem All Hippies Blog!!!

It's 128kb so not the best quality clip, but I think you more than get the idea.

God I love him.....

It's "Wah-Zo..."

One of the most highly regarded producers in the scene, and someone who is thought of as the vital link between Garage and House for his 1999 masterpiece, "Flat Beat", Mr Oizo aka Quentin Dupieux is coming down under once again to kill/injure the few survivors of last year's onslaught.

Not only is he a master producer, and an epic spectacle to watch behind the decks, (with eccentric performances including spraying bottles of moet into the eyes of onlookers, and making many a-suspicious-gesture that would be more at home in the Third Reich), Oizo has even branched into film production with Steak, 2007, staring fellow Ed Banger members such as Kavinsky and SebastiAn.

From a man who hides behind the alias of a robotic mannequin who is the reincarnation of Michael Jackson, you should expect no less of an extensive repertoire.

You earn your place among the palm benders. We here at WhiteBallin salute you Mr Oizo.

My Life is Nearly Complete

No drastic changes; good quality
..... As close as it gets to the real thing!

Only SebastiAn can combine drums with the sound of an accelerating engine, and end up with a track worth dying for.

If any one else tried to make this track... It would be shit

Fuck I love this song.

Dilemn Is A Bad Man...

When I see the name Dilemn next to a track, I immediately get the shakes.

His remix of this Daft Punk classic is, in my opinion, the best of the best.
This is so hot off the press, it hasn't even been made yet!
So download this beast only if you like your ears damaged and bloody!

I stumbled upon this young up & comer a little while ago and was immediately taken by his bouncy, synth-filled, electro/acoustic sound!

CSK OK, or CassiAn, is a fellow Australian, who at 19 years of age, is one of many extremely talented young artists ( Destroy Disco, Ghetto Ruckus, GameBoy/ GameGirl, Miami Horror, Knightlife, ZZZ, Ohh Ee etc...etc...etc...) emerging from down-under and making waves on foreign soil.

This Sydney-sider is a regular at the amazing TrashBags, and Candy's Apartment... Which are basically two of the coolest nightspots in Aus.

CassiAn has been kind enough to send WB a few tunes for your listening pleasure.

His new tracks, Knockout and his remix of Like Woah's!, Oh! I Like, are both reminiscent of old-school arcade game music, (definitely getting a Street Fighter vibe) and are both filled with sweeping synths, grainy bass and catchy melodies that makes tapping your foot come as naturally as breathing.

His remix of ZZZ's monster tune, Lion, is a blatant face melter and is sure to kill someone.

Check him out in a mass way!

Like Woah! - Oh! I like (CSK OK Remix)

... oh and here's a sweet remix of CSK track, Crossie, by fellow Aussie young gun Hubert... defs check him out as well!!!

CSK OK - Crossie (Hubert Remix)

I was lucky enough to catch the Crooker's secret Onelove show at Prince in Melbourne last night!

Their new Thunderstruck remix is amazing, especially when you are surrounded by 20 speakers that are bigger than you.

I now have permanent ear damage, but I wouldn't have it any other way...
